Present Perfect Tense in Urdu

Present Perfect tense is used to talk about those actions that started in the past but it is still continue in the present. Present continuous tense shows connection between the past and the present. This tense has very important role in English grammar as it shows that an action of the past has effect in the present.

فعل حال مکمل موجودہ زمانہ اور مکمل پہلو کو جوڑتا ہے جو ماضی میں پیش آنے والے کسی واقعے کے اظہار کے لئے استعمال ہوتا ہے جس کے موجودہ زمانے میں نتتائج ہوتے ہیں۔ یہ زمانہ حال اور ماضی کے درمیان روابط ظاہر کرنے کے لئے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔

Helping Verb and Form of Verb

Helping Vern: Has, Have

Form of Verb: 3^rd Form

Note: we use helping verb “has” with singular subjects and “have” with plural subjects.

Affirmative/Simple Sentences – سادہ فقرات بنانے کا طریقہ

Formula: Subject + Has/Have + Verb 3^rd form + Object + .

I have cooked food.	میں کھانا پکا چکا ہوں۔
She has plucked the flower.	وہ پھول تھوڑ چکی ہے۔
They have cleaned the room.	وہ کمرہ صاف کرچکے ہیں۔
I have passed the exam.	میں امتحان پاس کرچکاہوں۔
She has made sentences.	وہ فقرات بنا چکی ہے۔
You have painted the room.	تم کمرہ رنگ کرچکے ہو۔
We have played football.	ہم فٹبال کھیل چکے ہیں۔
She has written a letter.	وہ خط لکھ چکی ہے۔
I have read a book.	میں کتاب پڑھ چکا ہوں۔
Akram has made tea.	اکرم چائے بنا چکا ہے۔

Negative Sentences – منفی جملے بنانے کا طریقہ

Formula: Subject + Has/Have + Not + Verb 3^rd form + Object + .

I have not taken tea.	میں چائے نہیں پی چکا ہوں۔
She has not made food.	وہ  کھانا نہیں بنا چکی ہے۔
We have not cleaned the room.	ہم کمرہ صاف نہیں کرچکے ہیں۔
He has not played cricket.	وہ کرکٹ نہیں کھیل چکا ہے۔
You have not passed the exam.	تم امتحان پاس نہیں کرچکے ہو۔
We have not written a letter.	ہم خط نہیں لکھ چکے ہیں۔
She has not taught the students.	وہ طالب علموں کو نہیں پڑھا چکی ہے۔
He has not eaten mango.	وہ آم نہیں کھا چکا ہے۔
I have not used  the phone.	میں فون استعمال نہیں کرچکا ہوں۔
They have not painted the room.	وہ کمرہ صاف نہیں کرچکے ہیں۔

Interrogative Sentences – سوالیہ جملے بنانے کا طریقہ

Formula: Has/Have + Subject + Verb 3^rd form + Object + ?

Has he gone to school?	کیا وہ سکول جاچکاہے؟
Have you won the match?	کیا تم مقابلہ جیت چکے ہو؟
Has Akram read a book?	کیا اکرم کتاب پڑھ چکا ہے؟
Have they cooked food?	کیا وہ کھانا پکا چکے ہیں؟
Has she written a letter?	کیا وہ خط لکھ چکی ہے؟
Have you painted your room?	خیا تم اپنا کمرہ صاف کر چکے ہو؟

Usages of Present Perfect Tense – فعل حال مکمل کے استعمال

1. Present perfect tense is used to talk about those action started in past and continues in the present.

فعل حال مکل کوہم ان کاموں کے لئے استعمال کرتے ہیں جو ماضی میں شروع لیکن حال میں جب ہم بات کررہے ہیں وہ کام جاری ہو۔

Examples:

They have lived in Karachi all their life.

وہ اپنی ساری زندگی کراچی میں گزاررہے ہیں۔

She has been ill nearly two years.

وہ دو سالوں سے بیمارہے۔

2. For those things has important in the present and happened in the past.

ایسے کاموں کے لئے جو ماضی میں ہوا لیکن موجودہ وقت میں اہم ہے۔

Example:

I cannot unlock my room; I have lost my key.

میرے کمرے کو نہیں کھول سکتا، میں اپنا چابی کھو چکا ہوں۔

3. When we are talking about our experience until the present.

جب ہم آج تک کے اپنے تجربے کے بارے میں بات کرہے ہیں۔

Example:

I have listened this song before.

میں یہ گانا پہلے سُن چکاہوں۔
